I have read all the safety reviews on Amazon from all the diverse safety MFG's. Skylink, GE, Bulldog Security and so on. I was impressed that the evaluations on this item did not mention something about poor top quality, poor range etc. I very first named the AAS security persons and was impressed that over the phone they could answer all my queries. I would like to let you know that the main programmer/ auto dialer is the similar on all their units from AAS100 to AAS600 systems. The only distinction is the amount of door sensors, motion detectors, sirens etc and so on. They have so many extra add on's for their safety program it is extraordinary, such as remote wireless sirens, smoke detectors, gas detectors, water detectors and a lot more and additional. So I ordered a custom unit from them: 1 most important programmer/dialer, 1 remote siren and three motion detectors and two remote crucial pods. I setup the program on my kitchen table in about 1/2 an hour. The siren is loud, due to the fact I purchased the separate wireless siren unit it can be placed anywhere you have an AC outlet. The motion detectors operate fabulous. Not as well sensitive but work at long distances. I put 1 on the motion detectors in my den and it looks into my kitchen and will detect you if you walk at the finish of the kitchen 40ft away.The principal programmer has built in battery backup. I have a 3000 sq ft residence and I do not know where to put the 3rd detector, the other 2 detectors cover my whole 1st floor. I've only had it for a week but I am impressed. You have the capability to dial into this method and listen to what is happening, operates with my blackberry cellphone. You can set the exit and entrance occasions and several way more nice programming tricks that you do not uncover in other systems.This security method with my Avaak Vue wireless cameras are wonderful. UPDATE:
The technique is great. No issues. I use VOIP Vonage for my household telephone and it operates awesome on out going alerts from the AAS 100 safety method, but on incoming calls the Vonage answering service will answer and I can not dial into the AAS 100. SO....I bought the VOIP Grandstream Handystream 286 adapter from Amazon went to CallCentric and signed up for their VOIP telephone . Its excellent for a alarm method due to the fact it will dial out and I can now call in to my alarm. Cost? $1.95 per month. Wonderful! If any individual finds a superior VOIP supply let me know!
Second update:
Discovered out my dog can set off the motion detectors. No predicament, raised the pointing angle and now my pug does not set off the alarm. My wife and I set it just about every time we go out. Even with the dog at household. Love this system.
Third update Feb 2011:
Technique still working fantastic. Had to replace the 9V batteries for two of the motion detectors, so I would say they final about 6 months. I replaced the batteries on all the units anyway. Uncomplicated to do, and I did not have to reprogram any of them. Amazon has some wonderful offers on 9V Alkaline batteries. I also dropped my VOIP CallCentric and I just use the Vonage VOIP. No require for two systems, I never had to dial into the safety technique, no false alarms!
